Jasmina Trumbetas-Petrovic was born in Belgrade.She began her vocal studies with Professor Predrag Androvic at the Kosta Manojlovic School of Music in Zemun. In 1994 she graduated at the Belgrade Conservatory at world-know soprano Professor Radmila Bakocevic, with whom she also obtained the post-graduate M.A. degree in Solo singing in 1996. In addition, she received a degree in Slavic languages and literature at the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Philology. In 1994 Jasmina won the Annual award of the Conservatorium in Belgrade and firmly placed herself as the finalist of the International Singing Contest in Belgrade (1993), winning the special prize for the best interpretation. Her obvious talent, awards and achievements resulted in admition to the Opera company of the National Theatre in Belgrade, where her career as a singer and performer flourished in the roles of Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Mimi (La Bohème), Fiodriligi (Cosi fan tutte), Micaela (Carmen), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) and Leonora (Il Trovatore). In 2000 she won the 2nd prize at the Spontini-Pergolesi International Competition in Maiolati, Italy (the first one was not awarded), and in 2003 was awarded as Singer-of-the-Year for the role of Marguerite (Faust). In 2002 Jasmina become Principal Artist of the Belgrade Opera, the youngest in the history of the house. Jasmina Trumbetas-Petrovic made her international debut in Oslo in 2001. She performed also in Greece, Italy (Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma) and Hungary (Tatiana in Eugen Onegin at the Bela Bartok Festival; from the audience, Eva Marton described Jasminas art as ‘crest jewel of the performance’). In 2006 she had a great success in Paris (Concert at Palais des Invalides). After her debut as Aida in Belgrade in January 2008, she sang this role in summer 2008 at the Festival Gars am Kamp near Vienna, with great success and thrilling reviews.Mrs. Jasmina Trumbetas Petrovic recently was the guest of Opera in Ravenna, Rovigo and Vicenca in Italy. Her role of Tatjana in E.Onegin by P.I.Tchaikovsky was impressive and followed by excellent critics.
In June 2009. Mrs.Jasmina Trumbetas had a role of Leonora ( Verdi: La forza del destino ) by the first time and got famous critics too. The National Opera Belgrade pronounced her for the opera singer of the year.
In November 22.2009. ( The National Theatre day ) Mrs. Jasmina Trumbetas Petrovic had the role of Hasanaginica in opera Hasanaginica by Serbian composer Mr. Kambaskovic. It was premiera.
Besides her singing in opera, she used to sing in concert halls all over Serbia and abroud ( Italy, Germany, Greece, France, GB, Portugal, Austria,.).
Next role of Mrs. Jasmina Trumbetas Petrovic will be in Requiem by V.A.Mozart.
