PRIMA DONNA BISERKA CVEJIĆ MAKES A DONATION TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE’S MUSEUM

Prima Donna Biserka Cvejić donated several items from her private collection to the Museum of the National Theatre in Belgrade in order to enrich its collection.

In February, the Opera Company of the National Theatre in Belgrade joined the prestigious “Opera Europa” Association, whose members are the renowned European opera houses and opera festivals.

Belgrade premiere of the production Constantine, one of the events within the National Celebration Programme of the Edict of Milan Jubilee 313-2013, Serbia, was held on Monday 4th March on the Main Stage. It was seen by numerous state officials and other renowned people.

Main Stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade started with its regular activities on Friday, 1 February.

On 30th December, the Drama Company of the National Theatre in Belgrade had a premiere of Sophocles’ Antigone, directed by Jagoš Marković, on "Ljuba Tadić" Stage in the Yugoslav Drama Theatre.

The greatest ballerina in the world, Svetlana Zakharova, performed in Giselle on 8 December in the full to capacity Sava Centre with the Ballet Company and Orchestra of the National Theatre in Belgrade.

On occasion of the State Programme for Celebration of Jubilee “The Edict of Milan 313 – 2013, Serbia”, the Opera Company of the National Theatre in Belgrade performed Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida, directed by Ognjan Draganov, on 18th May in the Roman Amphitheatre of the Archaeological Park Viminacium.
